The "24-phase transformer" is a transformer for diode rectified DC power supplies. By providing a 24-phase output, it is possible to suppress the output ripple voltage and improve the input power factor. By configuring the output windings of the transformer in four ways: Δ connection, Y connection, and staggered connection (±15 degrees), it is possible to obtain outputs that are phase-shifted by 15 degrees.
